Quilled Flowers

These quilled flowers are a really cute decoration to any project. I recently used them on my Mother's birthday card. They are really easy to make and look great.

Step 1-

Choose your inside color of the flower. I chose pale yellow. Taking the quilling paper, wrap it around until you have it in a tight circle.  I actually used a toothpick, because I do not have a quilling pen. A pen would make things more tighter and faster also. Add a small amount of glue to keep the circle together.

Step 2-

Cut out the quill paper for the inner petals. You can buy them already to use, but I just cut them out myself. Very easy to do. Then you wrap the middle petals around the inner circle. Again glue the ends.

Step 4-

The last thing to do is press out all the petals. It ends up looking like a neat little flower.

Coming Soon....

Product Review- Clarisonic Mia Skin Cleansing System

What is the Clarisonic Mia? It is a revolutionary face cleaner! And it's so cute!!

I have been using this system for over a year now and I absolutely love it! Yes, it is a bit expensive. This made me do a lot of research before I bought one. Every review that I read was positive, so I thought I would invest in buying one. I am so glad I did. It is worth every penny.

My skin is very oily and I always felt that no matter what cleansers I used, my face still felt not quite clean. I am very religious about cleaning my face too. Whenever I decided to buy one of these cute little cleaners I shopped around and found that you can get some pretty good deals on them if you look hard enough. I got mine for about $100 dollars.

You can also go to clarisonic.com and sign up to get auto-delivery on your head brushes. They automatically ship out a new one every three months. If you sign up for auto-delivery you save a few bucks too! I love it, because I do not have to think about re-ordering. They just show up!

This is the best product. If you feel like you are not getting your face all the way clean, give this cutie a try!

Ring Making

Just a little jewelry wire and a Swarovski crystal. Not too bad for my first try. The small on is about an inch long and is amber in color. The larger one is about 2 inches long and is a deep red.

Valentine Boxes

These are the boxes that I came up with for the kids Valentines. They were fun to make and I am sure they will be the hit of their classroom!

I'm a sucker for these Valentines!

What a cute way to have your child hand out their Valentine!

This is cheap and easy!

Just take a shot of them holding out their hand in a fist. Before I had them developed I edited the picture to say a Valentine message and added a few hearts. After developing, make a small cut above their fist and below to insert the sucker.

7 Layer Salad

This salad is super easy! Put it in a clear bowl and suddenly you look like a pro.

The possibilities for this salad are endless. Just choose the veggies you like!!

This is what is in the salad above.

Lettuce
Frozen Peas
Boiled Eggs
Dressing (1 cup Mayo, 1 cup Sour Cream, 2Tbsp Sugar, 3/4 cup Parmesan Cheese)
Shredded Cheddar
Fresh Bacon Bits (do these up in the oven, don't skimp by using store bought!)

Prepare this salad the night before. Right before serving, mix up really good. I have heard other people say that it lasts a couple of days, but after I mix it up I do not like it the next day. The lettuce becomes soggy.

This was a huge hit at my last gathering!!

Fishy Valentine Goodie Bags

These goodie bags are a neat idea for a boy to give out to his classmates. They are super easy to make.

I found a picture of a fish that I liked. Duplicated it so there were many on a piece of card stock paper. After cutting out the fish, I then glued (Elmer's Glue Stick) several layers of pink tissue paper on the top for his fins. After the tissue was glued on I took scissors and made a lot of cuts. It gives the fish a neat effect. Next I attached each fish on a toothpick using a drop of hot glue.

I created the tag using a pale yellow card stock, cut them out, gave them two hole punches for the toothpick to thread through. The bag is the same bag I used for my previous post on the Rose Valentine Goodie Bags. See that post for instructions to create the bag.

Rose Valentine Goodie Bags!

These goodie bags are a really cute way to do Valentine gifts, but they can also be used as any kind of gift favors!

They are easy to make (although a little time consuming) and they are extremely cheap.

Rose Instructions:

Step 1-

Select the colors you will want your rose. I chose a hot pink and a pale pink tissue paper. Cut several squares out, approximately 1"sq. Cutting the strips at the same time, cut out your petals. I then crinkle the tissue up to give it a wrinkled effect. This gives it a more real look.

Step 2-

Put a small amount of glue on the bottom of one petal. (I used Elmer's Craft Bond glue stick) Now wrap the petal around a tooth pick, shaping the top to look like the inside of a rose. There is really no wrong way to make this look. The tissue is very easy to manipulate into whatever shape you want.

I used two pale pink petals for the inside. Then you used about 3 of the other color to make the outer petals. The result looks like this.

Step 3-

Cut out the green leaf that will be added to the bottom of the flower. I used pale green card stock and a black pen to put individual names on them.

Bag Instructions:

Step 1-
Tear out a piece of wax paper about 12"sq. Fold it into thirds.

Step 2-
Fold the bottom up about 6". Use the top opening to fill with your favorite treats or favors.

Step 3-
Fold the top down. I used decorative scissors to make a scalloped edge.

Step 4-
Using a hole punch, punch two holes about 1" down and about 1 1/2" apart. Be sure to punch through the entire layers of wax paper. This is make sure none of your goodies get out.

The last step is to slide the toothpick through the holes to secure the bag shut.
